The Belly Therapist® & Founder of Fit Tribe Wellness
D. Amaadi Coleman, M.A.
The inspiration behind Belly Therapy began with my own journey. Growing up, I was always moving—dancing, swimming, playing tennis or lifting weights. While studying abroad in Spain, I became a vegetarian and began exploring the profound connection between nutrition and health. My passion for movement and wellness made me decide to dedicate my life to helping women, especially mothers, prioritize their health and healing.
As a mother of three sons, a personal trainer, and a holistic health advocate, I combined my personal experiences and professional expertise to create Belly Therapy. After naturally healing my own diastasis, I became the first Black Tupler Technique® Trained Professional. Today, I use that knowledge to help postpartum individuals heal their bodies, rebuild their confidence, and leave a legacy of wellness for their families.
To deepen my understanding of healing, wellness and movement, I also have studied:
• Sacred teachings from Ecuadorian midwives and womb keepers, to support postpartum women through holistic healing, womb-centered care, and deep connection to body and land with Partera di Anaku
• Indigenous Belly Binding training rooted in Mexican tradition with La Matrix Birth
• Fascial Release Therapy with Maria Alfieris of Magical Hands Physical Therapy
• Traditional healing for Spirit, Belly, Womb, and Earth Tul'ix Indigenous Arts
• Spinal Health with Karimu Samuels
• Metaphysical Psychology & Classical Naturopathy at the University of Kemetian Sciences
• First Degree Reiki (Usui Reiki Ryoho Shoden) at the Spiritual Arts and Science Institute
• Kemetic Yoga with Michelle Blu
• Pilates, Water Fitness and other Movement-Based Healing Modalities
• Latin Salsa Dancing at Baltimore Salsa Dance Company: Latin, African & Cultural Dance Institute
What Sets Us Apart
The Belly Therapist® stands at the intersection of ancestral wisdom, lived experience, and holistic healing. As the first Black Tupler Technique® Trained Professional, D. Amaadi Coleman brings both clinical precision and cultural sensitivity to abdominal and pelvic floor rehabilitation. Her journey through healing diastasis recti after childbirth gives her a rare, embodied insight into the physical and emotional layers of postpartum recovery. With training in Indigenous belly binding (Mexican and Andean traditions), fascial release therapy, metaphysical psychology, spinal health, and traditional womb-centered care, she offers support that feels less like a procedure and more like a sacred return. Her practice deeply centers Black and Brown women, addressing the gaps left by conventional maternal health systems and creating spaces where women of color feel seen, heard, and held.
As The Belly Therapist®, my practice is an evolving braid of these teachings — a bridge between ancient womb traditions and modern postpartum needs. Each session is a ceremony of restoration, realignment, and remembrance. You’re not just healing — you’re coming home. By partnering with nonprofits and community organizations, I ensure this work is accessible and rooted in collective care. This is more than postpartum recovery — it’s a reclamation of power, sovereignty, and self.
